I got this Sago Palm about a week ago and have no clue how to care for it . It came in this pot for bottom watering … is this a sufficient way to water it (I just added water to it today and is the first time I’ve watered it) ? How much watering does it require ? I also noticed the soil is very chunky and crunchy … is that how it supposed to ? Any help is appreciated !

they love good drainage! they’re drought tolerant and unfortunately a bit susceptible to root rot. just make sure that only the rope is touching the water surface and the soil/plant will pull in what it needs.

if you see leaves start to yellow, i’d take it out of the self-watering pot and let the soil dry out before watering again
