Hiya! I cut this Caladium leaf from my bottle rocket because it was Browning a lot, I'm not exactly sure why but I still cut it since it's the only Browning leaf. I'm wondering if I could propagate this. I keep seeing posts about tuber cells and I'm really not sure what those are. I just want to know if I can propogate and how to know if I have tuber cells

No, caladium are a bulb plant. Prop needs to be bulb division or seed. I have seen cut leaves grow roots, but they are a "zombie leaf" ie they will not produce more leaves/new plant, just keep the cut leaf alive.

Interesting. Never knew they were bulb plants! When I first started as a plant momma, my sister got me caladiums and I overwatered and killed them. 😆 I have new ones now and I know better. But I never knew they were bulb plants. Thanks for sharing!

I wasn't aware either until I thought I killed one, but the bulb had just gone dormant. And it popped back up months later. I called suspicious and did dome investigating 😆 🤣

Okay! Thank you! I've heard about people mentioning tuber cells that will let the plant grow new leaves but this makes sense, thanks so much!
