Question about plants in water: my lucky bamboo is doing well, but I have a question about changing the water; I’ve seen conflicting answers on the web. Do I change the water (they say that’s not good due to losing nutrients in the water and giving a shock to the plant) or Do I leave the water, fill it as needed, and add liquid fertilizer as needed? Thanks!

I change mine when the water starts to change colors and just add a little in between. I’ve had mine for a couple years now and it’s doing great.

You should definently change the water of the plant from time to time. Its a good way of refreshing the plant with new, fresh and not dirty water.

I only change the water when it’s looking dirty or murky. Otherwise I top it off with more water as needed. I use rainwater for my hydro plants and I recently started adding CleanKelp fertilizer to it. I’m curious to see what that does for the plant.
