Could you share a picture of the soil? Usually when they do that it can be a telltale sign that they are thirsty

Thank you! Sorry I don’t mean to be annoying but two more questions 😂 1) What is the white thing on the left stem? Maybe zoom in because I wonder if that might be a plant pest. 2) What is the light coming opposite the window? Is it a grow light?

Yes it is a grow light and actually I’m not sure about the white thing! It has been there since I got the clippings

Okay! Last question. When you got this plant, did it have roots? You mentioned it was a cutting

They were a little bit small, but yes, they did have roots

Does it move if so that’s a mealy bug, and it’s sucking your plant dead, change soil spray off the entire plant, roots and all, wash and sterilize pot really good, spray plant really good with neem oil, then isolate this plant. If it was near another plant check those and treat them

How does this bug get to a plant?

Okay so that might be the issue. Plants can have trouble acclimating to going into soil especially if their root system is not well established.

Should I put it back in water?

So that may be up to you but I would first try and see what the roots look like if you pull it out of the pot. Feel free to share a pic if you’d like. But yes either putting it back in water to root for longer or putting it in a smaller pot might be the solution

It can be brought in on another plant from the store, come in through windows, doors or even clothes it just depends. Pest typically target weak plants especially new cuttings that’s trying to grow. If this was given to you they could have had them on some of their plants and this little bugger hitched a ride home by hiding in your soil or on the back of the foliage

Check any other plants. You can use alcohol and a qtip to wipe them off and kill them.
