Does anyone think this is too leggy for a Blood Leaf plant? I had it in my SE-facing window, but Iām not sure it was getting enough light. It also leans strongly toward the sun. I rotate every day. Seems healthy otherwise. I donāt really know anything about it tbh. I just thought it looked cool with a cool name.
They only require part sun so I doubt itās reaching. This plant is āhardā to take care of, so go easy on yourself. It does need more water than most and it requires high humidity. Are you in a humid environment?
0 Likes Hi, thank you! Yes Iām in New England so itās kinda humid. Certainly not dry. I think the window doesnāt get enough sun due to large trees directly out back. But now that itās outside it grows straight up which I think is a good sign as long as it doesnāt burn. So far so good. I did unfortunately leave it out in a rainstorm today so weāll see how it looks tomorrow. Right now the leaves are curling quite a bit probably cuz itās too moist, but hopefully the moisture will balance out overnight/tomorrow.
0 Likes Does your pot have drainage holes? If so, it shouldnāt be too moist with rainwater if itās draining properly.
0 Likes Yeah there is drainage. The soil was still very soggy, but perhaps it dried out quickly since I looked at it. Alternatively it could be getting too much sun outside (not sure how much sun that particular spot gets) so Iāll look every day for discoloring of the leaves to move it back inside if I need to.
0 Likes That sounds like a good idea, watch it to see if itās getting hit too hard. Outside will be the most ideal for humidity so youāll have to pick your battles with this one. š
