My snake plant produced this different lighter coloured leaf and its babies are also lighter coloured. Is this common with snake plants? Is it still a laurentii? Not sure what the little leaves beside the big ones are going to be either.

    I'm not sure as I'm new to snake plants myself. I will say all of my babies do look like yours and not the mother. I just assume they will change once they get more established?

    leaves come in lighter and will get darker as they harden. think like a monstera or philodendron leaf, they come in funky but go normal eventually. baby is still the same species as mama plant but the patterns are different, probably because mama's rhizome is a little damaged somewhere, which is not your fault. stores will sell them like that because the rest of the plant is perfectly fine, so they don't care.
