Does anyone have an idea as to why one side of my black prince has gone pink?!? I’m hoping it’s nothing that I may be doing wrong! I added reference from the other side that is all green.

Your plant is probably stressed. Succulents are likely to turn red or pink due to bad weather conditions or under watering.

How often should I be watering it? The app is telling me to not water it until every 22 days😬😬

I would think every 12 days. Try to subtract some time in case under watering is the reason.

don’t increase watering without checking the soil first otherwise you risk overwatering your plant and giving it root rot. make sure the soil is completely 100% dry before watering again. for my succulents this size (in 3-4” pots) it’s anywhere from 20-30 days between waterings. 22 days seems appropriate.

Hmm..do you suppose its the weathering conditions? I too think it is normal for succulents to take some break before a next watering. Maybe too hot or cold for the plant?

That may be it! We’ll just have to see how it adjusts!

Hard to tell with it being out of focus. When you take the picture tap the part that you want in focus so the camera will focus on it.

It’s the stem that I am focused on!

Oh yes. This is a natural response to what I just said. Turning pink is just what some plants do to respond to stress.

Ohh that makes more sense I was like 🧐 trying to look at the pink on the leaves. Is the pink side of the stem closest to the window/light source?

I put it outside every day and regularly turn it so… maybe?

Oh gotcha yeah it’s just sun stress which some people really go for with their succulents and as long as nothing is crisping and browning it should be fine!

the plant doesn’t look unhealthy, i’m guessing maybe a little stressed from lots of light by the way the leaves are pointing up. most echeveria turn pink or orange when sunstressed

Should I give it less light??

How much light is in the room? Is it bright, shade, or dark? If there is contact fully with the sun or even part shade, i suggest you lower the heat.

depends how much light it’s getting. is the plant outdoors in full sun? indoors in full sun (like a south facing window)? or is it under a grow light?

So the past few days I have been setting it outside for about five-six hours of the day. However, the rest of the time that I’ve had it (about two weeks) it’s been in my bedroom with a north facing window. So it is probably just adjusting to the sun it’s getting since it didn’t have much before??

yeah, sounds like it. 5-6 hours of direct sunlight is not much for a full sun plant. typically they like 8-10 hours of sun. it has likely adapted to the shade of your north facing window and is readjusting to the sun
