Hey yall I could use some help. So I have had this coleus plant for about 6 months and for some reason it has started to droop a little bit. As shown in the pictures it has also started to turn brown at the bottom. I really want to keep this plant alive because it is the first one that I have ever had. ANY advice would be greatly appreciated! (P.S. the first picture that has really good lighting and where it looks like it’s healthy that was taken on the 26. All of the other photos were taken today).

Is the grow light on a daylight nighttime schedule? Have there been any other changes like moving it to a new location or changes in your water or your heater broke etc.?

It hasn’t had any changes at all honestly. For the grow light I normally turn it on from around 5:30 till like 7, 7:30. The only thing that I can think of that may have caused a problem was that our heater was being weird like last week. For some reason our heater wasn’t working for like 2 days last week but it’s not like the temperature dropped dramatically it went from 67-68 to 58. Could that have been what caused this?

A lot of times if a plant experiences a shock like water shock, temperature shock, transplant shock, etc. you’ll see the physical manifestation of their stress. While it’s really hard to diagnose stuff from a photo, usually that’s where you should start - is if there’s been any change. Since the coleus normally enjoys 65-75° temperatures it’s possible?

Oh, and to clarify when you say 5:30 to 7:30 are you talking about two hours or 14 hours?
