I ordered some rescue plants. One of them was an Epipremnum marble irrigated. It started off great the marbling was perfect, but as it’s been growing, it’s no longer marbling, and it turned into a cebu blue plant. How do I get it to turn more marble variegated than the other please?

to encourage more variegation, your plant needs more light. try moving it to a sunnier spot :)

Good idea. At this moment, I have it in a south west facing area from the window. It’s probably about 5 feet away. How close do you think I should get it? I live in the Phoenix area so the sun is a little intense in the southwest facing windows. What do you think about a grow light?

You can cut it below the last variegated leaf to see if it will put out more variegations. It will need more light to do so. Move it 1 foot closer to the window and wait at least a month to see if it gets variegated leaves again. 🪴🍀

i'm not an expert with this plant, but a grow light might be great! just make the light isn't too close, because variegated spots on leaves are more prone to sunburn. i second what Sunny said about distance to the window- you don't want it too close for (again) fear of scorching the leaves. best of luck!

Where did you order rescue plants? That sounds like a nice hobby.

She’s the only one so far in America that actually sells plants that get brought to her that people don’t want anymore whether it’s because they didn’t look right or they weren’t growing the way they wanted to. There are many reasons why people return plants. Here is the link right to her page. Of the rescue plants. cheydplantlady. I can’t post the actual link due to the guidelines of our site here. But you can look up online.

Yeah, try her out. See what you think. Also look online for people who sell rescue plants. I found her through a lady in the UK. And State that this was the only authorized rescue plant person here in America.

i agree with other commenter on more light, but if that doesn't change anything, you'll need to chop off all of the unvariegated growth. variegation is a genetic mutation, and once it's gone, it does not spontaneously return. your best bet is chopping that new growth and hoping that the new shoots it produces are variegated.

Thank you all for your help. I’ve never thought it would be a lighting issue. And I have thought about cutting it back, but I will move it closer for sure and if not, I’ll try to grow light thank you guys for your help again.

If you have a south facing window in Arizona i don't think you need a growlight. Just keep moving it closer to the window slowly. South facing is a prime location in my opinion.

Yeah, I am going to do that for sure. It’s actually only about 5 feet away from a south facing window. So I moved it about 2 feet away. And then I cut off the non-variegated part and I’m gonna prop that.
