My spider plant is only getting worse. I’m new to plants and I don’t know how to fix him ):

Could be watering issues it’s either to much or to little stick a chop stick in the soil if it sticks to it don’t water if there’s nothing on it water thoroughly and water like once a week to every other week spider plants love neglect I water mine depending on how hot it is outside once a week if it needs but most of the time I water every other week just to make sure it wants a drink
1 j'aimeHow much water should I give them?
0 J'aimeAlso thank you!!

Take is down set it in a bowel of water and let it sit for like 5-10 mins pull out let drip hang outside for a min to let it completely stop dripping then put it back up and water another week or so before watering again I normally hit snooze on my watering notification on the app the water it the second time it comes back up you want to let it completely dry or so wait about 4 more days then water
1 j'aimeThank you so so much!
1 j'aimeUsually yellow on spider plants means possible overwatering! Typically brown crispy edges points towards underwatering - I let mine totally dry out between waterings since they are prone to root rot!
4 J'aimeSo if it’s yellow and has brown tips that would be what?

Over water give put you finger in it and see if it feels wet stop watering till its crusty dusty then drown that hoe
2 J'aimeAgreed with Abby! I usually go by the yellow first and would take that as being overwatered
1 j'aimeThank yall both very much

This is how my other one looks but it’s in a different area so it’s so weird

I have 3 and all of them are in different stages that’s my biggest it just put out it first vine and one baby spider in a month bc I started fertilizing it
1 j'aimeHow often do you fertilize and what do you use,
0 J'aime
And I only fertilize it 2 times a month on watering days
0 J'aimeLooks overwatered. How often are you watering and how much?
1 j'aimeAbout once a week and I just pour 2 mason jars full of water
0 J'aimeI agree with all the comments that it’s overwatered. The pot looks too big. Too much soil holds excess water the plant can’t use. So, the roots sit in water too long and rot. Spider plants like snug roots in a pot just a little wider than the root ball in well draining soil that includes lots of perlite. It probably needs more light too. They like very bright indirect light or a grow light. It looks pale for that variety. Bright indirect light for at least 8 hours in warmer months will give it darker green colors. See my picture. 🍀🪴
1 j'aimeI’ll order a grow light right now 😊 case I don’t have many areas I can put in indirect sunlight
1 j'aimeDo you recommend changing the pot as well?
0 J'aimeYes, change to a smaller pot with well draining soil.
1 j'aimeThank you! I went ahead and did it last night and I noticed how the roots are super thick and swollen!! I had no idea that was a thing
