Hi guys, my plant has some lines on some of the branches should I be worried? It doesn’t look like it could be a pest.

    I believe that is a normal part of aging for some houseplants. Might be called corking?

    I got scissor happy with my plants earlier this week because I thought my zz plant had scales (even though I didn't see any pests but then Reddit made me think it was and that it spread to other plants) but seeing this and the comments (and my own doubt about "this can't be right, this doesn't seem like a pest or disease") makes me also agree it seems like corking. Can happen due to impact, extremes of light and/or temperature...it doesn't spread!

      UGH I KNOW!!! I had a melt down afterwards. I can't tell if it helped or hurt my plants 😂😂 I think now that it's been about a week I'm accepting my actions 😂😂
