treat them like a succulant - give as much indirect light as possible, and water only once soil is completely dry. ZZs have rhyzomes that look like potatoes that store water, so overwatering will cause it to rot. they can survive in lower light, but theyll do much better if you err on the side of brighter light. good luck!
7 Mi piacethese actually want the brightest light you can give them. they’re native to extremely dry climates — dry air, dry soil — and want to be neglected to rely on their rhizomes. i water mine only once a month in the summer, even less in the winter. don’t pot it in anything you love — the rhizomes can actually bust a pot lol
6 Mi piaceGlad I read the comments. My Buttercup Zz is doing well but I know not to over water.
1 mi piaceOMG my zz’s are put to shame next to these beauties!!!!!
1 mi piaceGive her light and ignore her and she will love you! 😂 Follow the advice already given. They like it sunny and definitely grow better in bright light but will grow in not so sunny spaces as well. I’ve got three around my house each with different light levels and even in the room that gets no direct light at all and sits 6 feet from the window it still pushes up new stalks.
1 mi piaceI know when to water mine by how much the stems have sagged! 😁
1 mi piaceOhhhh it looks happy in your passenger seat lol
