My Alocasia is performing what I believe to be guttation… this is when plants release excess water and minerals from their leaves, especially when relative humidity and soil is overly-wet. These specialized glands are called hyathodes. I have not seen this before but it’s super cool! It’s the early evening when it did this and I watered it three days ago, still quite damp in the soil. Hoping the new soil mix I am trying is not too wet for it. It has perlite, charcoal and orchid bark mini-chips in the coconut noir so I thought it’d be enough. Maybe I didn’t mix enough chunks in? I did a 50% soil and 50% everything else mix but I def didn’t measure when I did it. 😌

    They like a chunkier soil. Did you just use coco coir or coco chips?

      I used coco coir with fine orchid bark, perlite, and charcoal chunks. But about 50% is coco coir.

    Plants will often guttate just because they've been watered 🤷‍♂️ only get worried if guttation lasts a few days after watering.
