When watering a plant from the roots, how long should it sit in the water? It’s ornamental grass I purchased and was going to plant right away, but life…. And I let it dry out a bit 😬

For a dehydrated plant, go ahead and let it soak for a few hours to a full day; it'll help it recover. For plants that like bottom watering as regular care, 10-20 minute soaks are enough. (I also had life hit, while i was soaking some bareroot roses. They got a 3 day bath instead of 1, but they were so dry it probably helped)
