Good morning plant Ohana. Just curious…what is everyone using to water?? I’ve been buying distilled water by the gallon and it’s starting to get really pricey. Any suggestions on keeping the price down.

You can buy a Brita Water filter in a pitcher form or as an attachment to a kitchen faucet. I have hard water. Most of my plants are outside and get ample rainwater this time of year. I added to one outside faucet a larger water filter designed for a recreational vehicle (RV). I water the outside plants through a hose attached to the RV filter.
3 likesThanks Sunny! I’ll give the Brita a try.
0 likesu can use rainwater or filtered water(i use brita)
1 likeI use filtered water.
2 likesI use the leftover boiled water from my kettle. I keep it in a jug and use it
4 likesI use tap for everything but my peace lily (we have really good tap though)
0 likesI have a reverse osmosis system in my house. I just refill jugs of water from that to keep on hand. I keep several jugs full. That way I don’t have to wait on the RO system to refill my humidifiers. Otherwise it takes a couple minutes to fill a jug.
1 likeI use tap water and water conditioner (fish tank stuff).
1 likeDoes that water conditioner remove calcium and lime? Ty
0 likesBoiling water distills it unless it’s hard water. Or use filtered water
0 likesNo. Boiling water does NOT distill it. But if you’re using that, and it’s working for you, that’s awesome.
1 likeI just use tap water and I've never had any issues. I have hard water as well
1 likeThanks for the recommendations everyone! ….I was using just tap water but, noticed a few of my plants not doing so well, especially my rattlesnake plant. Once I switched to distilled water they began to thrive. I live in the Bay Area and we don’t have much rain to collect.
