Good afternoon 😊 I’ve got a couple of jades and they’ve been doing well with my Osmocote Slow-Release Fertilizer Pellets, but the fertilizer seems to be making them grow lots of new shoots and leaves all the time rather than working on making sure each new set of leaves develops to the size of the older ones. If anyone has any recommendations for fertilizers that better suit jade plants, or if there’s something else I can do to try to get the jades to develop each set of leaves more, that’d be greatly appreciated. TIA!

I like the look of your jades. I usually trim them to be more tree like. But I have a few cuttings in a planter together. Plans were to separate them but think I will let them grow like yours. Sorry can’t help with your question but you inspired me to try something new.

Why, thank you ā˜ŗļø I don’t feel I can take too much credit for them, though. Both jades started off as a combination of 2 separate jade plants. The big one on the left was a rescue from my grocery store and the variegated one on the right is from Ott’s Exotic Plants. My only remote technique with them was to keep them comfortably snug in their pots so they put more of their energy towards foliage, and to pick ones with consistently large leaves and a decent trunk and combining them to get the bushy look. My abuela had this huge jade that’s now outlived her, and my aunt gives the cuttings away to me and my cuttings when she’s pruning it, so my hope is to give them a bushy start in hopes I can eventually have something that’ll last a long time that I can give cuttings away to my family 😊

The new small leaves should continue to grow to the size of the mature leaves over time.
