I just purchased an Alocasia Camouflage from my local nursery. I was unsure if I need to pot it in chunky soil mix like I do for my aroids- or if I should place it in leca. I have no experience with Alocasia since it’s my first. Any help is appreciated! -picture for reference (not my photo)

They do fine in either. They can be prone to transplant shock. So you may want to wait a week for it to adjust before you repot. And expect the possibility of losing a leaf or two.

Thank you! I’ll let it get settled in while I try to figure out which growing medium I want then 😂. Gives me some time to figure it out.

I do stratum first right after bringing them home (never had them shock since it’s pretty nutrient rich) and by the time I repot to pon once it’s established I usually have a few corms to harvest 🥰

I use a self watering pot you can use chunky soil or use pon. Mine have done well either way
