Hey everyone, This is my mom’s house plant and it is still growing well but some of its leaves are getting these brown/yellow spots and starting to die and we can’t figure why? She does not know exactly what type of plant this is haha. Any suggestions on how to help it would be wonderful. Thank you!

Assuming no fungal or pest issues, low sun and humidity is probably catching up with it. You can try to slowly introduce it to higher light so you don’t get the opposite problem, sunburn. However these guys are very resilient and efficient. Also I believe it is a Cornstalk Dracaena or something of the same family. Mine came with crispy bits and has improved with good light, a humidifier set to low (mostly for me during the winter lol but it’s helped the plant), and a good watering schedule. Please note that when the plant turns brown, it won’t turn green again. You can trim out crispy edges to see if they continue to brown, if they don’t, you are giving it good conditions. Don’t cut into the middle of a leaf if it’s not also on the edge if that makes sense.

My guess is it needs humidity. Options are misting daily, having a tray of rocks under or near it that you keep water in or a humidifier.
