I recently rescued this dieffenbachia from my mom’s house after it lost ~3 leaves. Any ideas on future steps? The pot seems pretty big and I’d prefer it to not be so top heavy. Thanks in advance!

Jess🌱If you don’t have to repot it probably don’t, but if it is acting really sad you can always take it out of the pot and repot based on the root size. You can also get really drastic and cut down the stalk, propagate the leaves in water, and put the stalk in a new pot based on the root size. Diffenbachias can droop due to over or under watering or a lack of sunlight.

Was thinking of cutting the stalk for propagation! But cutting off those big leaves scares me 😬. I’m gonna think on it for a couple days…

Oh yeah take some time to think over big decisions like that! I wouldn’t do anything today by any means. Go on YouTube if you want, there are lots of videos on dieffenbachia propagation and tips before you actually touch the plant 🪴
