Any idea if pilea can be grown in water? I keep having issues with root rot and wondered if it would still grow as big and produce pups in water after propagating

Replace all the water weekly and use hydroponic nutrients w every watering. Mine loves semi hydro but do what works with the level of effort you want to apply.

1 likeYes tricky plants! I was given a cutting of one before I got into plants and I was told it was very easy. It was not and eventually died.
0 likesI have mine in a very perlite heavy soil with lots of light. Like maybe 50% or more and it’s been thriving in that since it drains so well. I just soak it for a bit when it’s time to water. The leaves are now growing the size of my palm! I’ve had it for about 4 years and it’s never been so big.
