Is that ANOTHER planter? Inside THE planter??
Is that ANOTHER planter? Inside THE planter??
Yup
1 j'aimeYou should cut the pots to more easily free the plant without damaging the roots.
2 J'aimeDone! I'll know if leaves don't start to get black and squishy! Roots looked lovely! Thank you so much!
2 J'aimeThis is straight villainous
4 J'aimethis is CRAZY lmaoooo
1 j'aimeOh gods, that's annoying. Are the nurseries really getting this lazy that they can't decant the net pot??
1 j'aimeIt’s not laziness. It’s cost savings. They have to pay workers to cut those off. It’s also built in obsolescence. The plant dies and you go buy another one after blaming yourself for failing. Many don’t know it’s the cage of death that kills the plants.

Most growers start their plants in those plastic pots assuming us owners will remove it during the first repot. It’s a cost saving method but it’s also very effective for rooting props to grow. It’s not meant to stay on forever - just like how most potting mediums are just straight peat when it’s a growers pot - you’re supposed to change it for the best growth. It’s just not usually communicated that that’s the intention 🥲
