Hey y’all! My room where I keep most of my plants one sec darker, so naturally they’re getting less sunlight. I’ve been having a problem with their soil not drying out, it’ll be weeks and the soil will still be wet. It seems like most of my plants are doing fine, although some seem a little unhappy. I’m just wondering if you guys have any tips for what I should do, or should I just ignore the watering schedule and only water when the soil is dry?

If you have low light, that would be the issue in not drying. Only water when the soil is dry. I would go a step further and suggest a moisture meter, they are pretty cheap on Amazon. Planta is a loose guide, but the rate your plants dry depends on the conditions of your environment at any given time. I wouldn’t be without a meter, plenty often I have to skip a water or move one up depending on the plant and conditions.

it always depends on the plant but there are some lights on amazon specifically for this

Unless we are talking Hoya, some are really thirsty and I would not let some dry out totally. 🥀

Light will help dry soil, as will a seedling mat if the room gets cold in winter.

If you can’t get any more light then maybe get some perlite to mix in with the soil. That will help with drainage

Snooze and mark that soil is wet too and schedule will be adjusted.
