This was a wax covered Amaryllis bulb that I purchased late Nov/early Dec 2022. Originally the bulb produced one stalk and four trumpet flowers. When the flowers and stalk died back I removed the wax and placed the bulb into a loose dirt mix, almost like the consistency of coffee, into a large soup take out container. (The tall translucent ones.) The bulb last year produced two more stalks with huge flowers after I did that. He was outside all summer and I brought it in doors sometime in November into my basement with no windows. I can’t really say he died back. By Christmas I brought him and and another 2 bulbs to the living room. I’m a late bloomer. They’re late bloomers. Who really cares.😁

Oh the moral to the story is…. If you purchased or were given an amaryllis bulb enclosed in wax then don’t throw it away. Remove the wax. Make it happy. And it will return the favor!
