Polka Dot Plant question: I repotted this plant a few weeks ago from its 2” nursery pot to this ceramic one. I’ve kept it watered according to the schedule and have read it needs low light to keep its variegation. But it seems to be struggling with losing/wilting leaves, etc and I’m not sure why. Any suggestions??

Mine also likes a lot of water. Your soil mix looks too chunky. Mines in regular potting mix in a self watering pot and even then it sometimes needs water before scheduled this summer. Mines outside in high humidity and gets a lot of direct sunlight. ☺️

It’s in an indoor/outdoor potted plant mix. Would it prefer a tropical soil? Most of my other plants are in that and doing well.

Hypoestes need sunlight direct/indirect to keep variegation. Keep higher humidity and warmer temps. They love that tropical feel. As far as wilting leaves watch the water.

Would you recommend it dry between watering or stay damp, etc or what?

Moist would be best but keeping it on the dry side vs overly wet is ideal for indoor conditions.

This is mine. Started her out with low light then discovered that she wanted the opposite! Now I’m the one with a very interesting looking polka dot plant. lol. Can u see the point that I began to use more light? Lol.
