Hello! My pachira tree has sprouted a mushroom! Please can anyone let me know if this is harmful to my plant or me… this plant is kept in my bedroom which isn’t damp. A quick google search told me this is just a sign of nutrient rich soil but I would really appreciate anyone’s knowledge on this fungal matter :))
Not one bit harmful, actually a sign of a healthy soil packed with nutrients and good moisture

I will add that it's great indicator of rich soil, but if you have pets I'd remove it - who knows what the toxicity level is of that cute button of a shroom if it's ingested by a small furry creature!

My only concern when I see mushrooms (they are very common mind you) is that the soil is staying too wet. For some plants a constant damp soil is good. For others it's a recipe for root rot. For Money trees let the top 2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings.

While mushrooms are usually a sign of well hydrated, nutrient rich, healthy soil, they can also be a sign of overwatering. If you never have mushrooms in the pot before and suddenly have them now you might be watering slightly too often which keeps the soil too damp. Most of the time though mushrooms are just good signs
0개 좋아요The most common species of mushroom that grow in plant pots are the flowerpot parasol and the coprinoid family of mushrooms. Yours looks more like a coprinoid. They're harmless to plants, but can indicate overwatering if they appear often. If you have pets or curious children, it's best to pick the mushroom. While these aren't very dangerous, eating them can give you pretty bad stomach upset. Do be aware that mushrooms are difficult to ID down to species. While it's usually the species I mentioned, there's always the possibility of getting a lookalike that may be different on toxicity.
