Hey everyone. So i recently purchased a plant. When i got it in its nursery pot, its roots were already squeezing out. I’m going to repot it but i noticed that the leaves are not pointing down. Could it be because it needs to be repotted. I haven’t overwatered so I hope its because it needs to be repotted. Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Definelty repot!! When the leaves are leaning down it is usually because of water imbalance or exposure to cold draft, or too much light or intense heat. Maybe do some research and figure out the specific plant this is, and then research all the things you can do to help it thrive, watering amount, how much sun, type of soil. Definelty find out the type of soil your plant will do best in before repotting.

Bright to medium indirect light Water once to twice every two weeks, or whenever the soil has dried out.

I was thinking the same, is it still ok that it’s in the nursery pot but the roots are squeezing out of the bottom already? I actually ended up getting the materials today because i was going to need them at some point, but if its better to wait a bit I can do that, I truly appreciate the help, I’m trying to make sure all three of my new plants flourish 😂🙏🏽

These are resilient plants that being said I would wait a week first so it’s not getting shocked on top of trying to get acclimated to a new place. I bought a prayer plant in January that was delivered with a carpet of matted roots and I think it was a couple months before I had to repot it. Sometimes algaonemas will droop after you repot them and it can take a week for it to recover. Oh, and nursery pots are great for plants cause they have great drainage holes. 😊

I have a new pot, and soil, and fertilizer, my question is though, I think its been like a month now with this plant, I know it’ll be traumatic to repot it, but in the nursery pot, its roots are already pushing through a lot, so would repotting it now be bad? Also, when repotting should i first water it then transfer it over, or should i transfer it and then water it in the new pot and soil?
