If you’ve got a local nursery, definitely suggest taking it there. Mine has a “repotting barn” and for eight whole bucks they repotted my 30 YEAR OLD jade plant. The employees are also really sweet at mine, and if you have questions, they’ll buzz someone over to help. Granted, I know not everyone has nurseries around, but I thought I’d suggest that if you do. If you don’t, there should be some tutorials on YouTube on how to repot plants in leca. Sorry to say I have yet to try it. Best of luck with saving the Maranta. Hope this helps!

Of course, make sure you have the leca on hand if you end up needing to reduce the plant to its roots and treat it.

Yes, semi-hydro works great for calatheas because they have constant access to water without being soggy It’s recommended to remove as much soil as possible from the roots first, then put the plant in water for a few weeks so it can develop water roots, before transferring to leca.
