pothos are always a great starter plant bc they grow fast, i also suggest making your own chunky soil mix and keeping it in a moving tub
1 likeWell, you might want to start with a golden pothos. They are super easy to take care of—minimal light requirements and they tolerates a certain amount of neglect. It’s also very easy to propagate in water, so with one plant you can start your own little pothos family. I keep one in my windowless bathroom without a grow light, and it’s still thriving. And, they are pretty too.
2 likesIt’ll depend a little on your lifestyle and conditions but I’d second the pothos. I also can’t recommend ZZ plants enough. They’ll do just fine with infrequent water and low light, but put near a window and they can grow quite a bit. Snake plants are easy to find cheaply if you want something on the larger side. My former roommate had one she didn’t water for a full year before she gave it to me and it survived. And if you want a non-green plant tradescantia (spiderwort) is hardy and easy to propagate

I would also recommend a pothos they are very low maintenance and you can easily propagate them!
0 likesA ghost plant succulent is an excellent choice and is low maintenance seeing as it is a succulent. Plus you can name it Casper! 🤣
