I’m still new to spider plants and I’m struggling to understand where the baby begins?🤣 Is it the bottom part of the stem that I’d cut or would I propagate from each part of the stem where the leaf starts to grow? Or is it just the very top? I have no clue🤣 any help?

wait for the babies to have roots like these — then you can snip the plantlet from the mother (or you can leave it attached) and set it on top of soil

The spideret is that little part at the end, you may get more at that node. (Around the leaves) I would recommend letting the spideret get bigger before you cut it, but after that it’s just water propagation. You don’t need to wait for roots to cut it. Putting the stem in the water won’t do anything, you’ll be able to see the bottom of the spideret when it’s a little bigger and that’s the part you need in water.

You will see the spider babies after it flowers. I would definitely wait to see aerial roots on the babies before cutting it from the mother plant. Cutting them off too soon and the babies can die before they root. The roots greatly increase the chance of survival for the baby. You don’t need to propagate them in water if they have aerial roots. Just place directly into soil.

Cut it anywhere near the baby especially if there are other spider babies on the vine. The flower vine will eventually yellow and die off even with babies still on it. It could take a long time to die off depending on the variety of spider plant. My Hawaiian spider plant seem to never drop a baby spider plant
