hello! this is Lana my monstera el salvador who’s roots have grown out of the bottom of her pot!! she definitely needs a repot. this is the first plant i’ve owned that has grown up a piece of wood like this, if i were to swap it out with a larger piece of wood or a trellis would that shock the plant too much? i believe the aerial nodes have grown into it. thanks for reading!

Its gorgeous!😍 The shock of changing the support structure shouldn’t be too bad. The aerial roots aren’t collecting rain or dew for the plant’s survival. So, detaching them from the plank shouldn’t be too hard on the plant. Just be careful not to damage the vines while removing. 🪴🍀

It’s a well established plant so it shouldn’t hurt it to change the plank on it.

So lush! I've never had a plant shock from support change. If it was gonna happen it'd be more likely on a moss pole you had to fish roots out of.
