Hi all, I need some help. My aloe appears to have root rot, and it feel right off the root base when I was trying to figure out the problem. Is there any chance I can replant this to regrow roots or is it a lost cause?

Aloe’s have root nodes like many other plants, however theirs are much more subtle and harder to distinguish. If it still has a root node you might be able to save it. There are some good examples online, so do a bit of research first to learn what you’re looking for. I would cut it off above all the rotting, and then let it sit and callus over for at least a week. I water proped as I wanted to monitor the root growth, but you can put it into soil. Don’t be discouraged if it feels like it takes forever to re-root. As long as the plant still looks alive then it’s fine. But allowing it to callus over is the key for that plant’s success.
