My monstera had these baby leaves when I bought it and later put out big leaves (2nd pic). Now it’s growing a new small leaf. Is this normal?

There may be another one in the pot that’s growing those smaller leaves.

No, I already split the plants into separate pots when I got them

i bet there was a teeny plant hiding because monsters don’t grow from the bottom

That’s what I thought but it’s joint with the main plant. According to google, this is normal. TIL “A baby leaf growing at the base of your Monstera means your plant is producing a brand-new, independent shoot. This new shoot will start out with small, solid, heart-shaped leaves without any holes or slits. Don't worry—this is completely normal for a juvenile vine. As this specific new stem grows taller and climbs, its leaves will gradually get larger and start developing the classic fenestrations just like the main plant.”
