I just fertilize them while watering them, and I use this fertilizer, it doesn’t smell fishy and great for most if not all plants

I've been using the foxfarms, I'll have to try this one, I like Bloom City

These are the main three I use... I like to try new things often, but these are my base 3 including FoxFarms kelp. I don't follow the planta apps fertilize to a T, it still has some glitches on lining up with the watering schedule I've found. I fertilize on the water schedule, depending on plants every 2-3 weeks longer for some in the winter.

Start little by little. It’s kind of like getting your plant comfortable, if you put a lot of fertilizer for the first time it can lead to nutrient burn then the aforementioned overwatering since then you’d need to water it down. Really just start by introducing very small doses of fertilizer then steadily and slowly increasing and observing any differences or signs in your plant. In terms for the best fertilizer to use for indoor plants, look for the npk (nitrogen, phosphorus, akd potassium) label on the back. Each plant may prefer a higher phosphorus content or maybe a higher nitrogen content, it depends! For indoor plants, I’d recommend a balanced fertilizer as an all-rounder. Example: having an NPK of 10-10-10! But consider if your plants have larger leaves or maybe it’s a flowering plant, which in this case for larger foliage leafy fellas need higher nitrogen and while flowering plants need more phosphorus content. As well of course make sure you pick carefully and read instruction. I hope this helped in any way!

I strongly recommend putting your plants in the sink and watering them allowing them to drain, to avoid any sort of water build up! I also only fertilize my plants every 2-6 months! Fertilizers always make sure that they are indoor safe for indoor potted plants, since outdoor ones tend to be super strong and could easily over fertilize your plants. Happy planting!
