Ya’ll my child touched and re-arranged my Pink Princess. Leaves started to fall off and she’s limpy😮‍💨 The app says to repot her which I’m going to do from Leca to Soil once the chunky mix arrives. My question…. How do ya’ll keep the little ones away from your plants?

Ah, Maybe the move hands away and give them another toy/activity to do technique. Get them a fake plant of their own? But if it’s a sensory thing for the texture of the plant then I don’t know what could replace that 🤦🏻‍♀️ Can you move the plants?

Are you sure it was the result of your child? It could be an overwatering problem from what the picture shows. But idk what you mean by rearranged.

I plan to take it out of the leca and place it back into soil. It was fine yesterday and days before however it may be a watering problem as you stated

My niece (1 y/o) grabbed a pothos vine as she was being carried through my moms house, and the whole pot came crashing to the ground (it was placed on the top of a bookshelf). Luckily no one was hurt. But since then, i have been ultra strict with plant touching (i have 2 kids under 3 y/o) and there are strict consequences if disobeyed. Because messing with plants is a serious issue! You can't control the toxicity levels of all the plants your child will encounter outside the home, so instilling a no-touch rule is imo necessary. Find what discipline works for your child and be consistent! My oldest hates time-outs, so that works well for me. Yours is older though, so I'm not sure!

I have two under 3 aswell. The oldest has her own and she’ll help with them but the youngest don’t give a damn about them 😂 yes I realise I’m lucky and that they listen and don’t try pruning them without me haha

This is great! My oldest learned pretty quickly not to touch them as well. He's since begun "helping" me with them when I invite him to, and even has his own propagations rooting now to make his own plant! Amazing your oldest has her own as well. Teach them while they're young! 😄

A 5 year old autistic needs to know why he can’t touch them. Explain how it can harm the plant. I would suggest you ask him if he would like to try a plant of his own. Of course this all depends on type of autism and why he may be touching the plant. Saying “don’t touch” without a reason will not work and neither will serious consequences.
