Need your ideas! I have a really nice home office (left) and a bunch of adored and pampered plants (red outlines). But the plants just feel kind of scattered around rather than attractively grouped. Also, the plants on the windowsill make it hard to close the blinds when it's sunny. And the window is fairly high (maybe 42" up) so there's a lot of space below the window that's not plant-friendly. Some of you have amazing lush green setups. Help me make this gorgeous! Ideas I had: • put a high table next to the desk (left blue area) • add a shelf extension to move the plants remaining on the windowsill away from the blinds (right blue area) Tell me your creative ideas!!

You could add a monstera! You wouldn’t have to put a table for it and they make any place look like a jungle

I have a cat so my plant palette is a little limited, I don't think monstera is safe for them :(

Oh!! Sorry! All of the plants I have are toxic and I have two cats. 🫣 but they never touch them. They just sniff and leave

You could get a multi-shelf plant stand or windowsill shelving unit. I found a shelving unit for my windowsill so I could have more room to cram all my jades, peperomia, and succulents in one south-facing window. The shelves are adjustable and have worked great for me. As for plant stands, I found a cool little metal one that’s got 3 spots for plants that can be adjusted and even closed to all stack together for storage at Home Goods for $20.

That's so cute! Thanks for the ideas! How do you close the blinds?

I don’t have blinds on this one anymore 😅 I had to drill above where the bar for the blinds would go. The shelves pretty much block the view from any nosy folks trying to look it. It’s the window next to my front door, and I live in a townhome, so it’s my way of helping my friends and family tell which house is mine 😂

Here’s what the windowsill shelves were called. It takes a little assembly, and drilling (the drilling might be able to be replaced with some Command strip hooks, though), but it was pretty easy to set up. I’m thinking of getting another one for my plants in a north-facing window

I used two side tables for a while that worked well in front of my office window. I recently upgraded to a tall bookcase so one of the side tables could actually go back to being a side table

Maybe the bookcase idea could work if it was on the taller side, I could put it next to the desk in the blue area and put plants on top

Consider a plant stand to group them in one location

The only problem with plant stands is they're always so low and my windows are placed very high. Maybe what I need is a bookcase or something that I put a plant stand on top of...

If the bookcase is open, great. Just get some grow lamps if it’s more closed in.

I think I'd use the bookcase for books and put the plants on the top!

Oh yeah the that would be a great option to get things off the window sill!

They have taller ones this is the one I’m considering on getting next. Amazon also has nice bookshelves as well. Plant stand just gives a sense of more style. Consider converting some of your plant that need a little bit more light into hanging baskets

I have cats so high shelves and closed cabinets are a must here! I had to use grow lights in our last house because I didn't have window access, so figured I'd put them all up here as well. The plants seem to be really flourishing with the natural and artificial light (Please ignore the pineapples; one of our cats is a gremlin that likes to attack fruit and vegetables 😒)

Ikea milsbo or stockholm 2025. Some plants on top, inside can be used for small potted plants, office storage, or... terrarium!
