I have a golden pothos cutting that is ready to pot. Shall I do it now, or keep it in water until spring?

I personally would pot it now because those things are almost indestructible 😆 I’m sure there are “rules” but I plant all my cuttings in soil when I feel they’re ready, regardless of season. They always do well.

I'd just pot it now. ... mainly cuz I know I'd forget 😆 just make sure you saturate it so it doesn't freak out about dry soil

Yes fair lol. I've actually had it in water for over two years now and I figure it's about time to pot🤣😄

I recently saw a rash of folks on IG that had liked shaped vases, that they'd forgotten cuttings in and the video was just the struggle to get the roots out past the narrow portion 😆 🤣 i will never buy anything but a straight vase now!!!!

Truly!!! Already when I try to get it out to wash the vase, it's a real struggle to get it back in🤦🏽

I literally just added golden pothos cuttings to the parent plant like, a week ago, lol. Do it. 👍

If the roots are splitting and have secondary roots it’s ready to pot! Just keep it inside if it freezes where you live :)

I just had this same dilemma. I decided to pot it now and so far so good. She hasn’t wilted and died yet

With those guys it’s really just a matter of preference. I have a vase with a whole bunch of golden cutting and a LOT of them have enough roots, but I keep adding new cuttings, so I’m holding off until spring. Also, I’m excited to see all the roots filling the vase. 😁 gives me the warm fuzzies. But seriously, as long as a cutting has at least 2” of roots, I don’t hesitate to pot them.

Right?? 😍 I love it! My mom gave me a couple of plants and most of the vines were super bare, with just a few leaves at the end, so between like 3 different plants I came home with a TON of cuttings, because I cut all the leggy vines off and put the leafy nodes in the vase. And I keep getting random cuttings from various people/places that I just throw in there.

Pothos in water is definitely a look. I let my last cuttings’ roots get to ~8” Always yellin’ at my boyfriend “Look at them roots!” 😅
