Hi all Just looking for guidance, I’ve had some root rot issues with Arrowhead plant. I’ve cut infected root, cleaned the plant and managed to get new root successfully by keeping in water. Root is relatively short and seems when I pot it in soil, plant gets de stressed and flops I’ve placed it back in water and wonder if maybe root needs to be much longer before I try and pot again? Has anyone had any experience or advice please Thank you 😊

Plants typically go through shock when moved from water to substrate as water roots are developed differently in a lot of plants. I always toot directly into whatever substrate I grow in. I use a chunky mix for most of my Syngonium and I always use clear pots so I can see both the roots and how damp the substrate is.

The problem with leaving them in water longer is that the roots will be even more acclimated to water. Plants almost always go through shock when going from water to substrate, and will look wimpy or lose leaves. You will just need to be careful not to let the substrate dry out too much. Don't water to the point of being soggy, but keep it moist at first, especially with a chunky mix
