Red lighting? I've also seen some blue lighting?

It is a grow light that uses both blue light and red light to make a purple light.

There are red grow lights and there are blue grow lights.

Some people prefer the red-blue/purple lights which is supposed to target certain stages of growth. The white ones are supposed to be full spectrum that will hit every growing stage. I have both and to be honest, my guys seem to do fine, as in appearing as if they grow - it's just not as noticeable day to day with the blue-red. Under the full spectrum, they do grow tad bit faster. So to me, it's whatever you prefer. I got both when I started to really want to keep my plants alive. Lol There are so many different opinions on them.

My imperial elephant ear is growing very quickly under my purple grow light.

My daughter has those red/purple lights throughout her home and I dislike them. Hard on the eyes and difficult to see anything. I use full spectrum and my plants are doing ten times better than hers. Plus I can see things better.

you will get used to the purple grow lights until you don’t notice them. They only hurt your eyes, because how they mimic sunlight and it’s intensity. I am planning on getting a full spectrum grow light, maybe a 5 or 4 header.
