Hello everyone, So I purchased this beautiful red “kiss” begonia this past Saturday, got a little too excited and repotted her. This is her now all sad. Please help, what can I do to save her? Any tips will help 💜

    Probably some environmental and transplant shock. Give her some time to recover.

      You’re probably a pro! She is my first, I went to the green acres expo and had to have her. This her after her repot. Just hoping I can save her

      I use a bottom watering with my begonias because sometimes when they get wet, their leaves just rot good luck she’s beautiful

      Yes, bottom water if possible. If you have to top water, don’t get leaves wet, they don’t like that

    They can be dramatic. Esp w repotting no matter when you do it. It is possible you’ll end up cutting off some of those leaves and even if you cut them all off, don’t give up new ones could still pop up

    I’m sure it will recover. I’m going to show what my Escargot went thru about a year ago. It had become so huge I had to divide it. Not knowing what I was doing really. I divided up the canes with roots by cutting thru the root ball. Divided into 4 plants. First pick was just before. Second pick was two days after the divide. They were all looking sad for about a week. Third was a few months later. And the fourth is today after a repot 19 days ago. I kept this one plant. Gave the others away and they are all still good.

      I repotted one of these I bought online, and it slowly shed all of its leaves just because of the stress. Mine was only a tiny one with 3 leaves and not much going for it unfortunately.

      I held one of these forever at the nursery last week, then set it down & walked out without it. You’re making me regret it now. That thing is gorgeous 😍

    Begonias are fantastic unusual plants. I also repotted my Red 19 days ago. They can be resilient plants.

      Sooo beautiful!! Do you suggest I keep her inside with a grow light? Or keep her outside? I let sun do the lighting during the day of course and then at night I put a grow light outside.

      Let them rest at night with no lights. If you do put them outside, watch the sun isn’t too bright on their leaves. It can burn them

      All of my begonias are under Barrina grow lights 16 hours a day. But all plants need time of darkness. I try to use shallow terracotta planters which is not what most people recommend. Soil has a lot of grit. Also contrary to most. But it works so I keep doing it.

    It’s just stressed from the repotting, begonias throw big tantrums for everything. Make sure the hair roots don’t dry out but also don’t keep them too soggy, and it should do just fine.
