Hello! I am looking to get a few (potted) lavender plants for my yard, to help keep bugs away and I love the scent.. Is there any suggestions you can give me on Lavender plants? Also any other bug repellent plants are welcome as well. I live in NE Arkansas, so there is everything around here in the woods.
I started some lavender plants from seed here in GA this year. They are hardy enough to handle the heat and cold here if planted in the ground. Maybe try some seeds? They’re cheap at Dollar Tree!
0 likes Oh thank you! That’s something else I was concerned with is the heat of summer! Summer days in Arkansas like Georgia are smoldering and miserable, but we love and live for them!

1 like I purchased mine at either Home Depot or Lowe’s already grown and none of them survived. I’ve done this twice.

0 likes I tried to grow citronella lemongrass, and lavender because I I heard that they repel insects. I planted them around my eye, but I have noticed no difference in the bugs. The grass has to be trimmed quite often. One of the Citran is huge, but the rest of them didn’t make it and none of the lilac made it.
