Has anyone used rooting hormone powder for water propagation or is it used only for soil? Any tips are appreciated!

I use it for my water props and it seems to work well.

Yes, I apply the RH and then let it sit for 1-2hrs before putting in water. I feel like that helps the hormone stick 🤷‍♀️ but that might just be my imagination lol

I use SuperThrive for water props. It’s a good formula for props and starters, and can be dosed as low as a drop for very fragile plants

Yes, I’ve had much success with it. I dip the cutting into the RH tap off the excess and put the cutting in the pot of potting soil, water if soil is really dry or wait a few days and water as needed.

I’ve put hormone powder in water props. It’s a mess! The powder doesn’t mix into the water. It floats or is suspended. It still works. But, the cloudy aesthetic is unsettling. I graduated to using SuperThrive plant vitamins after the roots grow out. One drop per 4 ounces of water.
