Is it safe to trim the older bottom leaves off my pink princess and move the soil line up when I repot it? There is some damage in a few of the lower leaves but otherwise the plan is super happy—5 new leaves since I got it a few months ago. It’s due for a repot but I don’t want to hurt it either. It’s kind of my plant pride and joy 🩷

yes its safe to do! usually i just gently pull them off the main stem but if you feel to nervous to do that you can use pruning sheers or scissors to cut them as close to the main stem as possible. this will likely help the plant thrive more since it wont have to use energy for damaged leaves

while it is safe, the plant can still use the green healthy leaves to photosynthezise and use energy. personally i wait until leaves are around halfway yellow before taking them off, but in the end it is totally your decision!

I would let the cut spots callous over before covering with soil.
