I got this Alocasia Bisma today and noticed after buying it this one leaf has this splotch. It's one of the oldest leaves on the plant. Is this variegation or just damage? None of the other leaves have anything similar. If it's variegation, are there any ways I could encourage it to push out more variegated leaves?

If it doesn’t wipe off you might have just hit the jack pot! Higher sunlight can encourage variegation! I believe there are some fertilizers specifically for variegated plants . You could def look into that! But also, you could propagate the corms from the plant . They could hold some of the variegation as well!

It kinda looks like damage. It could be sport, especially if no other leaves show varigation. Not to be a downer.... But it's not always likely to show up again. Any sport alocasia I've had another sport leaf is once in a blue moon if at all. That being said alocasias are real bad with reverting and like said high light or new corms could show something
