My Scindapsus sent out a 2 runners and this one made it to the wall. I want to leave it but I’m not sure. Do the roots damage the walls?

I think I’ve heard that they can cause damage if the roots go quite deep so I wouldn’t risk it 😬 maybe make a moss pole if you can?

It will ruin the surface of the wall like the picture I attached. That was from an ivy plant. I’ve never had a plant where the roots went deep. My Baltic Blue is currently attached and growing up the wall and the plant loves it. 💚 I own my house though, so easier for me to accept the surface damage that I’ll have to deal with if I ever move.

You are welcome and thank you! One thing that feels a bit daunting in letting the plant grow to the wall is the idea of having to potential pull it off if it needs to be repotted. I’m kinda worried how I’ll manage that with the Baltic blue.

Couldn’t you repot in the place it’s at? I’m sure it’ll get messy, but there’s something so beautiful about the vines climbing the wall. I can’t wait ! ☺️

It can remove the paint when you remove it from the wall.
