How can I help my zz plant? I’ve had this thing for years and it hasn’t done much growing, except for the little one in the middle and most of the other shoots have broken off or snapped at the top it’s pretty thin. I just wanna get it healthy.
Does it get much light? These plants survive in low light but thrive with light. I have mine under a grow light and water every 1-2 months depending on humidity and it’s just started growing more shoots for the first time since last spring.
0개 좋아요 When I had first got it, it did not get very much light. It was around 10 feet from my window and now it’s on the bottom of my plant shelf with an overhead grow light for all of the plants.
0개 좋아요 That should definitely help! Also, you could possibly repot it either into the same pot with fresh soil or into a pot slightly bigger if it’s been in that same pot since you got it. When I brought mine home and potted it up from its nursery pot, it shot new growth like crazy!

Bottom shelf with overhead grow light probably is not enough. ZZ’s do much better with bright light. Also depends on power of your grow light.
좋아요 1개It does look healthy. They are very slow growers, that’s for sure! It is odd the stems aren’t very leafy and kind of skinny. I have one like that too and I’m not sure what the solution is either.
