Anyone have any tips for cats eating your plants? I have a few plants that I am so protective over and I keep waking up finding bite marks in the new leaves:/ I keep trying g to move them but my cats are sneaky and always find a way to get to them. I guess I’m just curious if anyone has any advice on how to keep them away from them as much as possible? Should I get some cat grass? Any thoughts welcome!!! 🤗

Yes, get some catnip so they realize that this is one for them. They should leave the others alone gradually once they realize the others taste bad.

Get a cabinet. Grasses and nip will only distract for so long usually

What kind of cabinet? Like the ones with the plastic covers?

Really anything that you're able to close off. You can DIY some of the ikea cabinets into greenhouses. I got a large metal/glass one from Amazon for $99. Or even a used display cabinet. Gorilla has a sealer spray that works well of its wood or metal

There are normally cat sprays at Lowe's or Walmart designed to keep cats away.

I have a lemongrass spray I use on my plant leaves and it mostly helps

If you don't want to move your plants I suggest cinnamon. It's not only great for keeping away pests but also works for cats! My cat hates the smell and never goes near my plants. Simply sprinkle some onto the top of your soil :)

Some plants are toxic to cats so you want to research your plants to make sure they are safe. They don't have to be totally non-toxic because it's usually just digestive upset but still you'll want to be mindful of this. My cat used to nibble at my miniature date palm. I'd shew him away he's barf it all up in a couple weeks later he'd been nibbling at it again. Silly cat.
