Asking on behalf of a friend here, since I’m not exactly sure if Planta has a true “bansai care function.” And I’ve personally never had luck with bansais. Her’s are looking a bit sad, just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get them a bit healthier. The plant itself is Jade, pruned and prepared by a coworker who is a bansai enthusiast (so I’m sure the prep work was done properly). Any insight would be greatly appreciated. 😁

Never seen a jade in bonsai form before, but the leaves look thin and dehydrated so they likely need water. Trees in bonsai form tend to need watering much more frequently than your average plants; not sure if that may be true for a succulent plant. I’ve had good luck regrowing areas of my jade plant with Keiko paste (cloning paste), and that might help fill out the top/canopy of those.

That complement means a lot coming from someone with such obvious skill and success! Thanks…

How often would you suggest watering a cutting to start? Just potted and watered yesterday…

As it dries out water it. Jade like drier conditions so if you forget it's not the end of the world. As it dries the roots will come out searching for moisture. Be patient it may take a couple months to root. If you're trying to "plan" its growth, remember if you cut off a leaf a brach will come in its place. If you trim a branch 2 will grow from the nodes in a Y shape.
