Here’s a poll question for you all - do you research your plants before buying, or do you find a pretty plant and say “yep, that one’s mine!” And hope for the best with plant care?

    I have limited windows in my apartment so I usually scan them on here to make sure I have the proper light requirements but after that I shop purely off vibes :)

      That’s a smart move! I (mostly) do the same thing. I’m just itching for a new plant lol

      Same! I’ll find someone pretty but then do a quick check to make sure I can give them a good home

      sameee there’s a couple i want so bad but can’t provide the right light for right now and it’s killing me inside lol

    When I first started I picked because they were pretty but I learned more about plants and now know what works and more on what I like, I have a few I first got that I would not buy again.

      polka dot plant, it’s easy and was super cut small but it got tall and leggy and just isn’t as pretty lol and just about any succulent, they just die on me.

      Jumping in here to say that I am giving up on the Arrowhead varieties. I have had terrible luck with those!

      Ok it’s not just me? 😆 I dreamt I found 4 baby geogenanthus ciliatus and I bought 2 (I wanted all four but didn’t want to look like a weirdo - in my dream… 🤪). They’re really hard to find irl. So if you see one… buy one if you like and let me know where you got it? 😁

    Running out of space so now it’s about light needs. That and toxicity to felines as we now have a new, very curious cat!

    I just go by the seat of my pants or sometimes I stop by and collections like all the begonias

    I started out grabbing all the plants and figuring it out (or not) later lol I like to scan the plant with Google Lens and get quick info if I’m unsure about a plant and its needs.

    We listen, and we don't judge... I just say "I like that one! Hope it doesn't die!" I'm not proud of this but oh well XD
