What’s like the best rare plant to have in my collection? The only plant I would consider rare in my collection is my variegated elephant ear and my pink princess philodendron. :)

    I would say a monstera Albo, iconic and very rewarding once you get inner Fenestrations

    I don’t think there’s a best rare plant, each plant person has their own “best” plant, but I really love my Calatheas and ZZ plant.

      Real I currently have 102 plants most of them are not very rare lol but my favorite is patricia philodendron :)

      I hadn’t heard of that plant either. But I googled it. Very interesting indeed. Too bad I’m on a self-imposed plant-buying moratorium. LOL!

    I have 3 “less common” plants that I love: tiny dancer alocasia, blue oil fern, and calathea musaica. So far the easiest of the 3 is the blue oil fern.

    The rarest houseplant right now is the Spiritus Sancti Philodendron! It’s very very very hard to get your hands on this plant. I finally got a tissue culture of it and it will be here today! A 6” pot of the SSP runs about $350

    In terms of resale value, new and rare variegated types. In terms of things for your collection, whatever you like. Personally I'm fond of unusual species, recently orchids. Also there are a ton of fancy african violets that i think deserve some attention

    Pink philodendron’s are rare? I have one I didn’t know that. I’ve just repotted her because she started getting droopy and was told her pot was too big so now she’s in a smaller pot, I’m also considering getting a self watering container for her
