How do I propagate from my monstera???
How do I propagate from my monstera???
Do I cut one of these off and put in water???
0 Mi piaceyou want to cut at the inter-node! Each internode cut will give you an entirely new plant and will push a new baby plant out of the auxiliary buds. If you cut too close to the node, then it might damage the plants ability to reproduce or to root. So be sure to use clean sharp scissors and cut directly in the middle of two nodes.
2 Mi piaceThere are some examples of where you could cut. I would leave the bottom portion without any marks though, so it creates an entirely new plant that has an established root system. I prefer to take top cuttings as it will push out a new leaf without having to use one of the auxiliary buds.
2 Mi piaceGive her and her babies lots of light(8-12 hours) and humidity(40%+), and all plants will be happy in no time definitely not necessary for this plant to survive but very necessary for it to thrive
1 mi piaceDo I put it in water first to start rooting or go ahead and plant in dirt? Can I plant it in the same pot?
0 Mi piaceDoes monstera’s need lots of indirect light for 8-12 hours a day. Is that why my leaves are curling?
0 Mi piaceI would recommend letting each cutting callus off for about 20 to 30 minutes and then pop them in water. You can put it back in the pot after roots form, but I wouldn’t do too many! The leafs could be curling because of the lack of humidity or because lack of watering!
